Chad repaired all the bikes yesterday and really wanted to go for a bike ride today. The morning started out with a pouring rain, but then there was a break, so we all decided to head to the park. Chad, Amanda and Caitlyn rode their bikes, and Eliza and I followed close behind with the stroller.
It was actually a great day for it, since it was grey and overcast. We missed all the serious rain, and it wasn't too hot. It was muddy, though. Chad and the older girls showed Eliza and me some of the trails they have explored during their recent daddy/daughter park times. They discovered a lake in a corner of the park that we had no idea even existed.
We found some tadpoles and baby frogs in various stages of development, as well as some deer tracks in the mud and various other creepy, crawly wildlife. The girls both picked the baby frogs to write/draw about in their journals after we got home.
We also started scoping out some potential places to hide letterboxes, since we're planning to create our own little letterbox series sometime this summer and hide them in the park.
