More Hiking and Boxing

Today is supposed to be the hottest day of the year, so far, so we decided to get the girls out of the house this morning while it was still cooler.
We headed off to yet another area park that we had only been to one other time and hunted for about half of the letterboxes hidden there.
We only found the first two in the first series that we tried - we couldn't find the third and fourth boxes. Amanda had a great victory though - the second box in the series had been attempted several times in recent months but never found.

We looked and dug around the location for about five minutes and were about to give up when Amanda discovered it! She was very proud of herself.

We did quite a bit of hiking this morning. Here are some worn out little girls, about halfway through our adventures.

In one area of the forest we discovered a bunch of black and yellow centipedes/millipedes (not sure exactly) and a bunch of bright orange mushrooms - definitely some wildlife we'd never seen before.

Hopefully we'll head back soon for the other 5 or 6 letterboxes hidden in the park.

(Also, for those who are little confused about what letterboxes are - Chad thought of a great illustration. If you are familiar with the movie the Shawshank Redemption, think about the end where Morgan Freeman follows the clues to find the rock/letter hidden in the wall by the field - that's like a letterbox!)
