Lake Day Pictures

Chad had a ski day today, so we all went to the lake for the afternoon.

Unfortunately, we were not able to swim, because the bacteria levels were too high near the shore. (Heavy rains wash the duck and goose poop into the water.) They had to bring the skiers out to the middle of the lake, where the water was fine, before they could get in the water.
The girls all got to take two jet ski rides, though, and they were pretty content playing in the sand all afternoon.

My kids would be content with sand all afternoon, too.

Do your little ones take naps at the lake? I always feel like I should avoid afternoon outings until after nap time.

No, they don't nap at the lake, but they all sleep on the way home. (It's about a 40 minute drive.) Eliza did nap last summer while we were there - she'd sleep in the stroller. Eliza still naps for a good 2-3 hours during the day, but if there's enough to keep her interest, she can manage without it. She usually has a little grumpy "hump" she needs to get over and then she's fine. She also sometimes takes a little nap on the way there, and that helps, too. Caitlyn still naps occasionally, but most days she's fine with no nap.
(And that picture of Eliza lying in the sand - she's just playing, not sleeping. She did rest on my towel a little, but she was too distracted to fall asleep.)
