It was a very nice, relaxing trip, though we did go out one day to do some sightseeing and playing. The girls had a wonderful time playing with Nonna.
On our way to DeSoto Caverns, we first stopped by the geographic middle of Alabama. It happens to be on the edge of this little, old cemetery in the middle of nowhere. There are no signs directing you there, but someone pointed it out to Nonna and Papa once, so they were able to get us there.
Next, we stopped at a larger, old Confederate cemetery. It was pretty neat. Some of the graves were marked, but there were also many "Unknown" graves.
Then we went on to DeSoto Caverns.
They had a number of other fun attractions at the cave site that we were able to enjoy, as well...
We didn't go on them, but they also had toilet seats that you could race around a little track. That was definitely an attraction we'd never seen before.
