Amanda and Caitlyn were having a conversation about math problems at breakfast this morning. They have not done any written addition or subtraction problems yet in kindergarten, and Amanda was explaining to Caitlyn the two ways to write "equals," depending on whether the problem is written horizontally or vertically. Afterward, Caitlyn asked to get out one of our workbooks so she could practice math. She then did math problems for the next half an hour or so.
At the bottom of one of the pages was another little activity which I pointed out to her. The directions were to draw one thing that was real and one thing that was make-believe. Caitlyn got right to work on the make-believe picture. A few minutes later, I walked over to see what she'd drawn, and she proudly showed me this -

It's an equal sign working out at the gym.
