Arrival and sunset on Friday evening
Rainy day in the RV
Since it was raining on Saturday, we got out and explored the island a little. We went to a local Serpentarium that was pretty cool. Chad and I did not go in, but Nonna took the girls in for a couple of hours to see all the snakes, lizards, and alligators. They had two shows/demonstrations that were reportedly very interesting.
I did not get a picture of all the shells the girls collected, unfortunately. I'm not sure if it was the beach or the fact that the rough water and higher tide brought in more shells, but they had some great finds. We found several whole (dead) starfish, a few whole sand dollars, and a number of whole whelk shells (like a conch but not quite as pretty), in addition to many smaller shells and pieces. Amanda also found a really cool sea urchin stuck to the inside of a large shell.
Monday was very sunny, but cooler. Chad helped them move the RV to a different beach campground a little further south, and the girls got a little bit of time on that beach before we headed home.
