I recently heard about a large park about an hour from here that we'd never been to before, not too far from where Steve (Chad's dad) lives, so we decided to pick up Grandpa Steve and spend the day there. (If you click on the pictures to the left, you should be able to view them larger.)
What a wonderful place! They had tons of playground equipment, a fountain area for the kids to play in the water, a lake with paddle boats and ducks, a petting zoo, a wildlife area, a train, a carousel, mini golf, and a gem mine. (This is Amanda sorting through her pan of "treasures.")
We spent the day and didn't do all the activities, so we have a great reason to go back another time! The park was free to get in, and then there was a small fee for some of the attractions. We ended up spending about $5 each for all the things we did, but that's not bad at all.

I've been wanting to take Andrew to this park for a while now after reading something in the paper about it, but hadn't talked with anyone who had actually been there. Glad to hear it's worth the trip!
