Ladybug Land

Caitlyn got this Ladybug Land for her last birthday, but we finally sent away for the ladybug larvae after we returned from our cruise earlier this spring. The first batch never arrived. The company was very nice, though, and promptly sent out another batch. I think that all of those, at least twelve, arrived alive.

Caitlyn made a wonderful little book about the life cycle of a ladybug before we left on our trip last week. Then, they emerged as adults the day we returned and have been getting more and more red over the last week. (They were a light pink at first.) They were extremely busy and seemed somewhat discontent with the size of their home, so we released them into the garden yesterday.
