Still Enjoying Summer

School starts a week from today! Ahh! We're going to Amanda's class this evening to drop off her school supplies and label her things.
I really don't care for the heat of summer, but it's so nice to have everyone home all day, and to hear the girls playing together.

All three girls had dentist appointments yesterday (no cavities!), and then the older two, along with some neighbors, (and a little help from Eliza), spent the afternoon collecting creatures - grasshoppers, dragonflies, butterflies, a woolly caterpillar, and a lizard. They have taken every potential container we have to serve as temporary homes. They have to let all the animals go at the end of the day, but they like to pretend they are pets while they have them.

Chad offered to put the tent up in the backyard yesterday. The girls thought it was a fabulous clubhouse, and it will probably serve as thus for a couple of days. They have been wanting to have a sleepover with the neighbors before school starts, but the neighbors weren't allowed to stay over in the tent last night. They did join us for a little campfire and smores, though. (The girls just had to have something sticky after seeing the dentist, you know.)

It was HOT. Not exactly ideal camping weather, but Chad and I stuck it out with girls. (We slept on the air mattress, though!)
