Fun with Grandma

I'm sorry it has been a week since I've posted anything. My mom called last Monday to let us know she was coming on Wednesday for a short visit, and she left yesterday after church.


We had a wonderful visit, of course. Here are a few highlights -

In the butterfly pavilion at the nature museum

These are all at the science museum (they had an underwater treasure and pirate exhibit) -






We also hiked the trail dedicated to fairy houses, and it just so happens that there was a Panda Bear letterbox on the trail! (They had a whole village of fairy houses, but many of them were looking very weathered. I think they were built early last spring.)
Here is a picture of the girls on this really cool tree we found along the trail - I'm not sure you can tell, but it was really growing sideways (about three feet off the ground) and then straight up two separate trunks.


Afterwards, we also went to the raptor center, where they happened to be having a special festival with a bunch of free activities.


Today was my first day watching my friend's baby, and Chad and the younger two went to his dad's for lunch, so we have a lot of things to catch up on the rest of this week!
