The Last Week

Once again, I am very behind on posts.
We had van issues last week - we found out our van had serious brake problems that were going to cost almost as much to fix as the van is worth, so we had to get a new one in a hurry. Which we did, thankfully, and in time for our weekend visitors.

My friend, Jessica, and her boyfriend, Adam, came to town for the weekend. We picked them up at the airport and spent the day with them. The weather was amazing - sunny and over 80. We had lunch at a restaurant on a nearby lake and got a little sunburned.

Jess and Adam very graciously played and read with the girls.

The warm weather has persisted, but today is supposed to be our last 80 degree day. It's supposed to drop back into the 50's tomorrow and be cold and yucky through the weekend. So Jessica and Adam picked the perfect weekend to visit!

Here are some pictures from playing outside this morning.

Eliza can finally ride her tricycle! She can pedal and manage to keep her feet on the pedals for several rotations. She's so excited to ride her "bike" by herself.

That's amazing! First Son never did manage to actually use the pedals on his tricycle.

Of course, now we don't really have a place for them to ride bikes at all, so perhaps it doesn't really matter. (We've talked about making a path around the property, but that's far into the future.)
