A Not-So-Wintry Day

Chad had to work today, but the girls and I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather. I found some things going on at the historic plantation where we have a membership and the nearby nature center, so we headed over there this morning.

We went on a guided nature walk before the girls made fruit bird feeders.

We had lunch by the lake. Afterward, the girls played and collected shells on the shore.

Here's a picture of the girls in the somewhat-strangely-green-for-January grass we found near the lake.

They were having a special Civil War program at the plantation, featuring the winter encampment. They also had the usual open hearth cooking demonstrations and a firearms demonstration.
