This and That

I'm several weeks behind, so I'm afraid this is going to be one long post with all sorts of things squished together.

We went to the local Scottish Festival/Highland Games again this year. One of the musical acts, a group of four sisters from Central Ohio, also performed at the girls' school the day before the festival. The girls were enthralled, so we had to go and check out the group. They were very cool. And very talented. They all sang, danced, and played multiple instruments. I think the lead singer played four different instruments, sometimes two or three during the same song. We bought one of their cds and got autographs.

Amanda and Caitlyn both had lovely Mother's Day Teas for me at school last week.

They also had the annual school art show last week.

After Caty's soccer game on Saturday we went to a local historic house where the historical society was hosting a strawberry social. Who wants to pass up free strawberry shortcake? We were able to tour the house, which I had been in years ago but is rarely open to the public. We discovered some nice places in the yard, too, namely this very cool magnolia tree -
